 The Lockport Soccer Club would like to thank you for your interest in our program. Last September we formed as our own entity and were able to reach several of our goals. We begin the season with two objectives. The first objective is coach and player development. We will be holding meetings and clinics with our coaches for the sole purpose of educating our coaches regarding better ways to teach our players. We will also try to provide player clinics involving certain skills such as goaltending and finishing. Our second objective is to get our team makeup properly aligned to lessen the spread in age on some teams which will make them more competitive.
Our tryout and registration period is getting under way now. We are looking for all of our previous players to register their intent to play next year and we are also looking for new players who are interested in the program. We will be registering players over the next several weeks so that we can properly line up coaches depending on needs. We will be contacting players in mid September and letting them know when their scheduled tryout will be. Tryouts will be observed by coaches and board members to assess the players and evaluate the team makeup. It must be noted that players who played this past summer season do not need to attend the tryout unless they feel they need to be evaluated again. Players from this past season had a full season to be evaluated but this does not mean they are automatically accepted back this year. As our club grows, our board also needs to grow. We are always looking for interested people who are willing to help out and become more involved in soccer in Lockport. We are also always interested in feedback both positive and negative.
